In depth

Verdict

MARIE’S GEM can’t be a confident selection after a below-par performance when a hot favourite at Ripon but he pulled hard that day and he’d placed earlier at Redcar and Bath. Lord Chapelfield placed over a mile at Ripon last time but Visor hasn’t raced since February and is now 0-13. Winter Snowdrop has an identical record but she is almost guaranteed to run her race again and it will be surprise if she doesn’t make the frame at least.
