This looks a little easier than the races THE CONFESSOR usually contests. Henry Candy's gelding is now a couple of pounds lower than when just beaten over this trip on similar ground at Goodwood last September and has a good chance to end his losing run here. Born To Surprise also has his sights lowered having run in the Britannia at Royal Ascot and the three-year-old makes more appeal than recent C&D winner Comrade Bond, who is 4lb higher now, and Loving Spirit, who may find this too sharp. Greensward could build on his third at Haydock but was a long way behind the selection at Lingfield in the spring and is worse off at the weights now. Escape To Glory won at Folkestone in May but was found wanting at Newmarket subsequently and today's ground may not be quick enough for him.
