        Verdict

        Strathspey, left the impression there was better to come, when runner-up behind Sweet Kristeen at Southwell, but her future could well lie in handicaps. Razzle is better than she has shown so far, but she needs this for a handicap mark, so is passed over. Mezya could prove to be the main danger to Birjand. The selection has shown more than enough to suggest a maiden is well within her compass and she gets a confident vote to lose her maiden tag.
