In depth

Verdict

Pevensey has held his form well of late but may be a shade high in the weights still after his win at Leicester in July and a better bet looks to be Babe Maccool, who is preferred to Well Established. The selection has been lightly raced this season but ran a lot better at Kempton last time, remains well treated and handles fast ground really well so he gets the vote with the possibility that there may be more to come. Folio is a consistent performer and should be thereabouts again but may, once more, have to settle for a minor role. High Command ran better at Kempton last time behind the progressive Acrobatic and makes more appeal than Sew'n'so Character, who would probably want a softer surface. Well Established is less exposed than most of these and has to be considered but Babe Maccool has plenty going for him and he gets the vote.
