Verdict
It is unusual for one of the bigger yards to keep a five-year-old maiden in training, but that is just what John Gosden has done with Eljohar. He has the best form on offer and if he is not ring rusty, will take all the beating. Francis Of Assisi, out of a winning mare, wouldn't have to be anything special to be involved in the finish, but her yard has had a quiet time of things this term and is best watched. Ettrick Water could prove to be the main danger. He has several decent efforts to his name, notably when a close up fourth behind Atlantic Quest at Newmarket at the Guineas meeting. Both Ocean Spirit and Heir To Be, looks the sorts to do better when they go handicapping.
