    Verdict

MONTATHAM defied a penalty to complete a double in novice company and can continue his good progress now handicapping. The Haggas grey should stay this extra distance having won over the extended 7f at Beverley last time. Jim Crowley prefers the latter’s chances to those of Khuzaam, who returns to action having undergone wind surgery, while Scentasia failed to cope with an 8lb rise last time having won over track and trip earlier. Canal Rocks went close at Newbury last month but Model Guest and Chairmanoftheboard look no nearer winning.
