An apprentice’s allowance negates most of a 6lb penalty today and Philip McBride’s charge is taken to confirm running in the process of landing a double. The runner-up will no doubt be in the mix again while Swell Song finished closer over track and trip last time without threatening and Archimedes had been thereabouts before a poor effort at Bath last time.
