In depth
Verdict
Sparkling Montjeu must be watched with a magnifying glass on his first start for George Baker, whilst former stablemate Maddy is bound to be popular. However we prefer the claims of North Parade who has bags in hand on the official ratings. Brian Meehan's colt is dropped in class today after two poor recent runs. His official rating flatters him, and by racing in the Dee Stakes this year he effectively ruined any chance of a good handicapping career. Golden Bishop is yet to win in seven starts but is consistent and has claims now dropped in class, whilst Unique and Where To Now appear to be making up the numbers. Testimonial has been stuffed by more than ten lengths on his four starts, whilst Flash Of Fire has plenty of work on at these weights. Maddy disposed of a small field well last time however we will stick with North Parade.
