In depth

Verdict

After winning on heavy ground and Polytrack, HAJAAM completed a hat-trick on good to soft at Leicester where he won with something in hand so a 6lb penalty doesn't look enough to prevent another success. Big Sigh has been making steady progress so it was no surprise when he was a well-supported winner on heavy going at Haydock. He's up 5lb but should be thereabouts though he's held by Incredible Dream on their run at Chepstow and the latter found 1m6f too far at Salisbury. Maestro Mac, who won here in August, showed his versatility with a comfortable victory at Chelmsford and though six-times winner Dolphin Village hasn't scored for a long time he's been running in better company.
