        Verdict

        MENDOZA (NAP) is taken to improve on his run of four successive third place finishes. He's been a beaten well-backed favourite on his last two outings but those performances at Ascot and Epsom still read well in the context of this race. Moreover, both came over 7f and the feeling persists that this return to a furlong shorter will suit the Zebedee colt. Autumn Splendour ran a solid race on the all-weather latest and now returns to the scene of his sole success. The win of Capla Rock over Don Armado in June reads well, although he's been beaten since and Sky Patrol's last three runs also bring him into calculations. Carrie's Vision has disappointed since winning here on debut and now is tried in cheekpieces
