Although Golden Sahara beat nothing out of the ordinary on his debut at Yarmouth he still learnt enough to run to within a length and a half of the well regarded Kheleyf at Doncaster on his only subsequent start. That form reads as well as anything achieved by the exploits of Moonlight Man and Fancy Foxtrot so far and the mount of Frankie Dettori is given a confident nod to continue on the upward curve today. Triple Jump has a pedigree that suggests he can make an impact at anything up to a mile and he is an interesting one for the future. However, he faces no easy task on his debut and is best watched today. In contrast, Golden Sahara - a late maturing type - is held in some high regard by his trainer and he can be expected to make a bold bid to expand upon the Godolphin strike-rate at York today. As a half-brother to Naheef (who won a Group 3 over a mile here earlier in the season) this trip should not pose any problems for Golden Sahara and this appears to be a stepping stone to better things for the son of Green Desert. He is a big bulky sort, who races with his tongue tied but he can still administer a licking to his three rivals here.
