In depth

Verdict

A valuable prize pool that can go to EXCELLENT VISION though Walvis Bay and Orchid Wing are likely to attract a fair amount of market interest. The son of Exceed And Excel will have to go some way to paying back some of that lofty investment but from a family that include high class sprinters, Orientor and Yeast, if he can put it altogether, he potentially could be special. Walvis Bay shaped with promise on debut at the Knavesmire though was a little disappointing up at Ayr next time around. Orchid Wing is one of two runners from the Richard Fahey team. A son of Avonbridge, his dam is an unraced sister to juvenile winner, Mrs P. Lucky Windmill has had a sizeable absence off the track though this should not be a barrier as his sire showed significant improvement over the year. Trade Secret is a tenacious battler though regrettably has yet to get his head infront where it matters. George Benjamin looks likely to frontrun without quite being good enough. Excellent Vision has work to do on the evidence of his first run but there is plenty in his pedigree to suggest that he will be up to the job.
