Highland Chief wasn’t disgraced in a Group 1 at Longchamp latest having finished second in the Great Voltigeur over this track and trip earlier but the Coles’ three-year-old is up against it facing LOGICIAN. John Gosden’s unbeaten grey won last year’s Great Voltigeur en route to landing the odds in the St Leger. He returned with a bloodless victory over a single rival at Doncaster and will be a short price in this. Desert Encounter has been a grand servant to connections but hasn’t quite scaled the heights of previous campaigns this year and isn’t getting any younger. Euchen Glen has also been around the block a few times and has never won outside of handicap company.
