After an opening victory in a soft-ground seller at Redcar, Baltic Beau appeared to find the ground too quick in a much better race over this trip at Ripon. His stablemate Major Cornwallis showed a bit of promise over the minimum at Haydock and looks to have the scope to do better. Billy's Boots had been well supported in maidens before landing a Goodwood seller with a bit in hand and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the extra furlong. Nazik scored on soft ground at Chepstow but didn't have the pace on quicker going at Goodwood but Zebspear has been showing good pace over the minimum trip. MELANIEMILLIE showed the benefit of her opening run at Beverley with a fine effort in a fillies' maiden at Ripon where she led at the furlong pole only to be caught close home by Appointed - she had the remainder well beaten and should go one better. Benediction was headed on the line in a 5f Beverley claimer on Wednesday but will need more.
