In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest in which several have claims including Daintree Affair, Mitsuki and Currency but the vote goes to Strensall, who deserves to win a race of this nature after some sterling efforts this term. The selection has found the ground too soft on his last three starts but back on a faster surface there should be no excuses on that score today. Daintree Affair looks well treated on the evidence of his last time out win on the Fibresand at Southwell but that was in April and an absence since is a worry. Mitsuki has slipped to an attractive mark and has to be respected along with Currency, who looks the pick of Milton Bradley's two representatives. Sir Sandrovitch is another who has dropped to a favourable mark and will be well served by the drying ground. He rates a bigger threat than Mick Channon's Vigorous. who still seems a touch high in the handicap but is open to improvement. Twice Upon A Time and Wicked Uncle are others worthy of a mention in a trappy contest but the vote goes to Strensall, who is taken to gain a well-deserved success.
