There are many in with chances here but from a list containing Bobsleigh, Solomon's Mine, Screenplay, Riyadh and Precious Mystery, we will side with Bobsleigh. The new, so to speak, Ascot Gold Cup course gets an airing here and, with the going on the soft side, this is not a race for the faint-hearted. Bobsleigh stays well and handles soft and has proven himself competitive from today's mark His trainer is also canny and will probably have earmarked him as a likely type for this race. Solomon's Mine is just two pounds above a winning mark and, relatively unexposed as a stayer, might have better to come. Screenplay comes here in good heart and his third at Kempton last time, where Adelphi Theatre was behind, was a fair effort so he can go well, as can Riyadh, who stays well and is another to be on a fairly competitive rating. Peak Park has progressed on the all weather this spring and the question is, can he sustain it on the Turf. Darn Good is another with recent winning form, but all wins have come on faster going. Precious Mystery warmed up for this with a fair effort over 14 furlongs at Salisbury last time. She is just four pounds above a winning mark and strikes us as one that can go well here, and we know that Vicars Destiny stays well but she has a six-pound rise to defy from her Pontefract win last time. Most of the others hold trip and going concerns, or both - although Spectested is closely weighted with Precious Mystery on Warwick form. Thus, in conclusion, we return to the selection, which is Bobsleigh.
