In depth

Verdict

Tim Easterby has always felt that Tcherina needs a soft surface and she has that here. She ran reasonably well to be fourth at Pontefract last time and may figure here but needs to improve to win this. John Forbes won well at Hamilton last time and that was a step up on previous form. He carries a five pound penalty but will handle the ground and must go well although this is a step up in grade. The others look to be out of form and it is hard to see them figuring with one exception. Self Respect though can bounce back to winning form. Having won first time out he ran well to be second at Windsor in a big field having hit a flat spot at the two furlong pole. He is improving and can land his second win of the campaign.
