Verdict

John Gosden’s FLYING OFFICER (NAP) beat Clever Cookie in a Group 2 at Ascot in October but finished just behind the latter when conceding 5lb in the Sagaro Stakes back at Ascot on his recent return to action. Back on level terms today, he should be sharper for that outing and may also have the edge on Second Step. Luca Cumani’s charge was not at his best after winning a Group 1 over 1m4f in Germany in August but has all the makings of a high-class stayer this year and should be in the mix. Suegioo and Glaring were both behind the selection in the Sagaro and Curbyourenthusiasm looks up against it on these terms.
