Verdict

Just one clear favourite has won this in the past 10 years but the winner is usually well fancied. MIJHAAR fits the profile of a likely winner perfectly and the ground won't be a problem. His close third in the Listed Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot was a superb run as he was conceding weight to the pair in front of him and with more progress likely he looks the one to beat. Area Fifty One has a bit to find with the selection on a line through Gatewood, who won at Ascot, but he looked in tremendous form when scoring at Newmarket and a 6lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another big run. Media Hype started a short-priced favourite in that race at HQ after scoring here in May but found his path blocked when attempting to close and is very much better than that. He could be a big threat while the Cambridgeshire and Royal Hunt Cup winner Prince Of Johanne is just as effective over this trip and can't be ruled out despite a 6lb rise for his latest success. The ex-Irish Mid Mon Lady could also go well at a big price as she has had just two runs for new connections and, with the ground in her favour and on a reasonable mark, she can reward each-way support.
