Verdict
Alexandrova can cement her Oaks claims by beating Short Skirt and High Heel Sneaker in this year's Musidora. Anybody that doubted the ability of the Aidan O'Brien stable to churn out more big-race winners this season have been made to think again by the recent successes of the likes of George Washington and Aussie Rules, and now it is the turn of the current Oaks favourite Alexandrova to show that she has trained on. The daughter of Sadler's Wells ended last year with a short-head defeat at the hands of Nannina in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket, leaving the distinct impression that she will improve markedly over middle distances, despite being a half-sister to Magical Romance. With Derby winner Shirley Heights on the dam's side, hopes are high that she will prove up to the task at Epsom after today's exercise. She had High Heel Sneakers back in fourth at Headquarters and should hold Paul Cole's filly despite the latter having had a prep run, and a bigger danger could be Short Skirt who rounded off her juvenile campaign behind Speciosa in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes. She is blessed with stamina as well thanks to the Bustino influence. Lingfield maiden winner Lake Shabla has it to do as does Maroussies Wings, but the market should be noted as to the claims of Clive Brittain's debutante Jabbara, a 65,000 euros daughter of Kingmambo. Alexandrova supplies the class here though and should take another step to stardom.
