          Verdict

          An impossible-looking sprint to kick off this prestigious meeting. Copper Knight had Mondammej, Mountain Peak and Nomadic Empire behind when landing the spoils 12 months ago but is 9lb higher now. Dakota Gold won this in 2019 and is another seeking a sixth victory on the Knavesmire. Look Out Louis had several of these behind when scoring at Chester while Ghathanfar is in the form of his life. Zarzyni is weighted to reverse Ascot running with Mountain Peak and Bond Chairman but DUSKY LORD may still be improving and it’s a positive that he’s only gone up a pound for his latest second at Goodwood where he didn’t really get the run of the race. Significantly and Atalis Bay are both potentially well treated on last year’s form with Ancient Times much respected given he got the better of Makanah in a decent contest at Musselburgh in June. Bergerac may be the pick of the remainder.
