Verdict
Zarova can land the finale at the expense of Dark Parade, Compton Eclaire and Oddsmaker to name but three. This is no easy getting out stakes for punters on the Knavesmire, and only a tentative vote goes to Zarova who was given a peach of a ride by Jimmy Quinn to get up the inside and score at Ripon last time. A rise in the handicap will make things a bit harder, but he loves fast ground, and judged on that latest effort, will not have a problem staying the extra furlong. Dark Parade won in similar fashion on the Polytrack at Lingfield and should go well on his return to Turf, while Compton Eclaire drops back in trip after a decent second over two miles at Musselburgh and is another for the mix. Oddsmaker raced much too keenly at Haydock last time and if he can be settled here, should be on the premises as well, but in a race in which bets are best kept to a minimum, it is Zarova that is the pick to send the locals home happy.
