Verdict

It’s been sometime since a three-year-old won this but this year’s crop head the ante-post betting including a couple of international raiders. Golden Pal now races in Coolmore colours and is fitted with a tongue-tie have easily won a Grade 3 prep-race at Saratoga for Wesley Ward and Frankie gets the leg-up. But SUESA (NAP) is easier to assess as the French filly returned the impressive winner of the Group 2 King George Stakes at Goodwood last month with Dragon Symbol back in second and Arecibo and Liberty Beach further behind. Francois Rohaut’s charge will take some beating if running up to the same level. Winter Power landed a Listed sprint over track and trip when beating Moss Gill and last year’s runner-up Que Amoro with Dakota Gold back in fifth while Chil Chil’s earlier double came over 6f.
