Verdict
Salim Toto has done nothing but improve all season and she looks sure to have a say in this. Although on the go from April, she probably turned in her best effort to date when touched off by the returning to form Love Everlasting at Newbury over this trip. She has nothing to fear from Frosty Welcome on that running and using Geoff Wragg's filly as a yardstick, she looks to have the beating of Marani as well. However the one to beat is Alexander Three D, who looked a filly to follow this year, after running away with the Zetland Stakes last backend at Newmarket. She did not disgrace herself on her seasonal debut here behind the high class Islington in the Musidora, before being outclassed in the Vodafone Oaks. She then went to Royal Ascot to contest the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes in which she finished an honourable 5th, beaten two and a half lengths. This represents a drop in class for her and she should make no mistake. Nashwan Rose, outclassed in the Italian Oaks, bounced back to win what looked an ordinary handicap on her home soil. She along with Dawana, Robe Chinoise and Rosa Parkes all need to improve on what they have shown so far, if they are to be involved in the finish.
