Verdict

A really competitive renewal of a race drenched in tradition and a chance for THREAT to gain a Group success after runner-up efforts in both the Coventry at Royal Ascot and the Richmond at Goodwood. Beaten less than a length on each occasion, he is faced by a host of talented sorts but still sets the standard. Kevin Ryan has a good record in this contest and fields a trio of contenders of which course and distance winner, Abstemious, makes greatest appeal with Jamie Spencer booked. Malotru gives the impression he has more to offer and the likes of Spartan Fighter, Dubai Station and Misty Grey are others with a decent chance in a fine race.
