Verdict

Always a maiden to take note of and a field of interesting sorts, many of whom have already shown sufficient to land a maiden. With half a dozen interesting newcomers to stir into the pot, it all makes for a tasty renewal. Gift Of Kings and Kumasi make most appeal of the debutants at this stage but the market should prove instrumental in sorting them out. Of those to have run, Afro Blue, Tulip Fields and Dubai Mirage seem sure to progress from promising debuts, but the form of Celtic Art and Molatham reads more strongly and both are highly respected. It's a tough choice between them but both could be trumped by FOX DUTY FREE, who overcame a messy start on Newbury debut to finish a fast-closing third to Owney Madden, a winner of a hot nursery here on Wednesday.
