Verdict

A very disappointing turnout considering the prize money on offer. The Shadwell-owned Baaeed took this last year and Mostahdaf produced a career-best when landing the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot. Stablement Nashwa won the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket two runs ago but was only third in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood earlier this month. The Foxes won the Dante here in May and was then fifth in the Derby. He ran well again in the States last month but the ultra-tough PADDINGTON proved his stamina over this trip in the Coral-Eclipse and has since added another Group 1 to his portfolio at Goodwood so is difficult to oppose.
