Verdict

Kevin Ryan took last year's renewal and in what doesn't appear to be the strongest of races, the eye is immediately drawn to HOT STREAK. The colt was acquired at the sales for his high profile owners and the trainer will be keen to create a favourable first impression. Soul Brother ran green on his previous visit to York and Tim Easterby's runner is sure to have learnt plenty from that experience. The yard will also be represented by First Commandment. A son of Golden Nun, it will be interesting to see how much of his mother's ability he has inherited. Pensax Lad ran a stormer at Nottingham but appeared to make too much use of himself in the preliminaries at Windsor. Kickboxer stayed on well at Windsor after a tardy start and is noted as Mick Channon's only runner at the meeting.
