St Helens duo Sia Soliola and Francis Meli have both been ruled out of their side's trip to Castleford on Sunday.
Second-rower Soliola and centre Meli have been struggling with hamstring and knee problems respectively and head coach Royce Simmons has opted not to risk them against the Tigers.
Matty Ashurst and young prospect Nathan Ashe are brought into Simmons' 19-man squad for the clash at the PROBIZ Coliseum.
Leon Pryce is set to make only his third start of the season as he continues his comeback from a lengthy injury lay-off.
But Paul Clough is still not ready to return from an ankle injury, although he is likely to play for the Saints' Under 20 side this weekend as he nears full fitness.
Castleford have not included captain Danny Orr after he took a knock against Huddersfield last week and with the Tigers not wanting to risk any players ahead of their Challenge Cup semi-final against Leeds on August 7.
After the 22-18 cup win over Huddersfield last time out, Paul Jackson and Stuart Jones also drop out of the squad along with winger Kirk Dixon.
Richie Mathers remains sidelined but Willie Isa could also come back into the first team after being named in the squad.
Castleford squad: Youngquest, Arundel, Owen, Chase, Hudson, Ferres, Milner, Isa, Aspinwall, Massey, Thompson, McGoldrick, Holmes, Widders, J. Davies, Clark, Parker, B. Davies.
St Helens squad: Wellens, Shenton, Pryce, Eastmond, Roby, Graham, Puletua, Wilkin, Flannery, Moore, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Ashurst, Dixon, Lomax, Magennis, Foster, Gaskell, Ashe, Makinson.
