Crusaders host Hull at the Racecourse Ground on Sunday in what will be the club's final home game in Super League.
The last-minute decision to pull out of the running for a new licence means an end to the club's tumultuous time in the top flight, though it is hoped they will be able to carry on in the Championship next year.
Still, the clash with the Airlie Birds will be a last outing in front of their own fans for several members of their squad, including captain Clinton Schifcofske.
The former Australia international will retire at the end of the current campaign but is determined to sign off in style in Wrexham.
"I will hang up my boots at the end of the season but I will always take away with me lots of memories from my time here at the club," he said.
"I would also like to thank the players as well, who have gave their all for the cause no matter what has gone on off the field.
"I've made some great friends during my time at the Racecourse and I hope that this club can have a fresh start next season because the fans deserve it.
"It has been an honour to captain to captain the club and I am determined to go out on a bit of a high."
Enforced change
Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris has been forced to make one change to the squad selected for the 31-12 triumph over Harlequins last week - a result that lifted them off the foot of the table.
Prop Gil Dudson serves the first of a two-game ban picked up for a dangerous tackle, so Hep Cahill - who is heading to Widnes next year - is recalled to the 19-man party.
Half-back Jarrod Sammut is again ruled out as he is still recovering from an ankle injury.
Hull, meanwhile, head on their travels knowing they cannot afford any slip ups if they are to hang on to the eighth and final play-off berth.
The Black and Whites thrashed Catalan Dragons 40-8 last time out but still remain just a point clear of arch-rivals Hull KR in the standings.
Coach Richard Agar is likely to move Richard Whiting to centre in the absence of Kirk Yeaman, who is serving a one-match ban.
Reece Lyne and Will Sharp are battling it out to start on the left wing in Whiting's place, while Sam Obst is available for the visitors after recovering from a hip injury.
Crusaders squad: Schifcofske, Martin, Mellars, Reardon, Witt, O'Hara, Withers, Bryant, Cahill, Chan, Winternstein, J. James, Flower, Kear, White, Moore, Lupton, L. Williams, Tansey.
Hull squad: Phelps, Sharp, Whiting, Turner, T. Briscoe, Westerman, Horne, O'Meley, Houghton, Moa, Tickle, Manu, Fitzgibbon, Obst, Washbrook, Radford, Lauaki, Lyne, Dowes
