Thomas: Returns after a neck injury

Crusaders will be buoyed by the return of Gareth Thomas for the visit of Super League leader Warrington on Friday night.

The former Wales rugby union international had been sidelined with a neck injury, however he has been passed fit to return for the bottom club.

Thomas comes into the 19-man squad at the expense of Stuart Reardon, and is the only change made by coach Iestyn Thomas following the 28-12 defeat to St Helens.

Ben Flower is retained in the squad after he avoided suspension for his clash with St Helens prop Josh Perry, however Tony Martin and Paul Johnson are still on the sidelines.

And Harris knows his side will face the biggest challenge of their season against the Wolves.

"This week is an extremely big test for us," he told the club's official site.

"Warrington are probably the best team in the competition at this moment in time and they are winning games very comfortably against good opposition.

"They gave us a bit of a hiding at their place so this is a game to if we have progressed and whether we are moving forward as a side. We will also see if we can compete against the best sides which is what we are striving to do."

Warrington go into the game without Joel Monaghan after the winger damaged his knee in the 42-6 rout of Leeds.

Monaghan is still waiting to find out the extent of the injury as swelling has delayed a scan - although the 29-year-old is likely to be out for a few weeks at least.

Coach Tony Smith will also be without Rhys Evans as he has suffered a broken hand.

However the Wolves have been buoyed by news that hooker Mick Higham is free to play after he escaped a ban for making dangerous contact with Rob Burrow.
