Huddersfield will be without skipper Kevin Brown for their derby clash against Wakefield at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday.
England international Brown will sit out the contest as he is carrying some small niggles, but the stand-off is expected to make a quick recovery.
Second rower David Fa'alogo missed out on last Saturday's 38-16 win over Hull KR and head coach Nathan Brown has also chosen not to risk him against the Wildcats.
There are other high-profile absentees in the form of David Hodgson, Eorl Crabtree and Lee Gilmour as Brown continues his rotation policy.
Joe Wardle and Jamie Simpson come back in after missing the clash against Rovers while young forward Jon Molloy is also included in the squad.
Respect
"We will give Wakefield all the respect they deserve this Sunday," coach Brown said.
"I've got a lot of time for John Kear as a coach and the way that he never complains, despite the fact that he has had to cope with some pretty tough circumstances at the start of the year.
"He has managed to keep his players working really hard in what has been a tough situation for them."
Wakefield have named two possible debutants in their 19-man squad, with new signings Liam Higgins and Tyrone McCarthy included by Kear to bolster the pack.
Prop Paul King is still ruled out after having foot surgery, while full-back Matthew Blaymire misses out due to a finger problem.
Winger Kevin Penny is still sidelined with an ankle injury but could a return to action next week.
