Hull welcome back Sean Long as they look to register just their second win of the season when they entertain Wakefield at the KC Stadium.
Scrum-half Long has returned to training following an Achilles injury and is included in coach Richard Agar's 19-man squad.
And he is set to team up for the first time this season with Richard Horne, who will be making his 300th appearance for the club.
"It's a great boost to have a player of his quality back in the side," Agar said of Long. "He's a smart player and his kicking game just offers us a few more options.
"It's good that we have the spine of our team together and our two half-backs playing alongside each other will certainly help us create some opportunities."
There is also a place for Jordan Turner-Hall, who was not selected for the 14-12 loss suffered against reigning champions Wigan last Sunday.
However, Agar will have to without Mark O'Meley for at least the next month after the prop picked up a foot injury in the narrow defeat at the DW Stadium.
The former Australia international was sent for a scan and the results showed that he suffered a torn ligament, meaning he could be out for as long as six weeks.
Kirk Yeaman is also an absentee for the hosts after he was handed a one-match ban for his part in a mass brawl during a fiesty game against Wigan.
King boost
Wakefield, meanwhile, have Paul King available to face his old club after the prop passed a fitness test on a foot injury that has kept him out of the last three matches.
King is not the only former Airlie Bird who will be returning to his former team, as coach John Kear has also picked Tommy Lee in his squad.
Lee made 68 appearances for Hull but his career there ended on a sour note when he was suspended for disciplinary reasons.
"I enjoyed my time there but it ended a little badly with a couple of altercations off the field," he recalled. "I was young and daft.
"I don't think I did myself justice at Hull to be honest and the fans gave me a bit of a hard time. I had my critics but I just want to play well for Wakefield."
There will also be an ex-Wildcat playing against recent team-mates; Sam Obst moved to Hull last month when Wakefield went into administration.
Forwards Kyle Amor and Frankie Mariano have both overcome knocks suffered in the home defeat to Warrington to be picked in the 19-man party.
Utility back Matthew Wildie keeps his place after impressing on his first appearance of the season against the Wolves.
