Warrington Wolves have confirmed that captain George Williams will leave when his contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.
The England captain has scored 35 tries in 91 appearances for the Wire, but will pursue an opportunity in the NRL in 2027.
"Warrington has been a huge part of my life and I've loved every minute of my time at the club," Williams said in a club press release. "Captaining this team and leading the boys out each week is something I'll always be incredibly proud of.
"Myself and the club have been very open with each other throughout, and I'm grateful for the understanding and backing they've shown me.
"My focus now is fully on this season. I'll continue to give everything I have for the badge, the playing group and the fans. I'm determined to finish my time here on a high."
Williams has previously played in Australia for the Canberra Raiders across 2020 and 2021, and was subject to interest from down under at the end of the 2025 season.
His side open the season at home to St Helens at 8pm on Friday February 13, live on Sky Sports.
Sky Sports will again show every game of the Super League live this season - including two matches in each round exclusively live, with the remaining five matches each week shown on Sky Sports+
