Warrington slipped off the top of the Super League table as they suffered a shock 24-10 defeat at home to Hull.
The Wolves looked to be coasting to a second straight victory over the busy Easter period when they surged out to a 10-0 lead.
However the Airlie Birds - fresh off the back of a derby win over arch-rivals Rovers on Good Friday - fought back with 24 unanswered points at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Centre Kirk Yeaman crossed twice for the visitors, his second try in the 75th minute sealing the two points for Richard Agar's depleted side.
Excellent start
Warrington will wonder just where it all went wrong in front of their own fans, particularly after making an excellent start to the Bank Holiday Monday fixture.
They broke the deadlock after just six minutes when Ben Westwood and Matt King combined to set up Joel Monaghan for his 10th try of the campaign.
Brett Hodgson, who kicked a perfect 10 goals from 10 attempts in the 60-0 thrashing of Salford last time out, struck the upright with his opening conversion attempt.
A second try arrived after 15 minutes when a clever switch of direction by Michael Monaghan set free Louis Anderson, who in turn passed the ball onto Ryan Atkins. The centre cleverly made use of the supporting Rhys Williams, allowing the winger to race in for his fourth try in three games.
Hodgson made no mistake with his second attempt at goal and at that point it appeared in danger of becoming one-way traffic.
Hull, though, refused to be brushed aside on their travels.
Craig Fitzgibbon created their opening for Danny Houghton as the Black and Whites got on the board after 22 minutes, Danny Tickle slotting over the extras to make it 10-6.
They had edged themselves in front by half time when Yeaman opportunistically darted over from dummy half, Tickle again adding on the two.
Loose ball
It took until just after an hour of play for the next points to arrive, and it came with a fired-up Warrington side firmly on the attack.
Atkins allowed a Hodgson pass to slip through his fingers, allowing Will Sharp to seize on the loose ball and run 70 metres to the posts.
Tickle's third goal left Warrington needing to score at least twice and, with the game slipping away, they started to show some urgency.
Lee Briers' one-handed offload set up Mick Higham to go in next to the uprights, but the try was ruled out as the final pass had been deemed to have gone forward.
The Wolves were finally finished off with five minutes to play when Yeaman completed his brace after Adrian Morley had lost possession in his desperation to keep the ball alive.
