Great Britain have been drawn with Kazakhstan and Netherlands in Group E of the newly revamped Davis Cup in Madrid this November.

With the tournament being staged at Madrid's La Caja Magica from November 18-24, Leon Smith's side have avoided the big guns and will fancy their chances of making progress after Thursday's draw.

Smith's side were given a wild card for the 18-nation World Cup-style event as one of the top six seeds and were put into Group E.

They will need to top their group to advance to the quarter-finals and, if they are successful, they will take on the winners of a Group C containing Argentina, Germany and Chile.

Mikhail Kukushki is Kazakhstan's top-ranked player at 52, while at 55, Robin Haase is the top Dutchman. British No 1 Kyle Edmund is ranked 28.

Group B: Croatia, Spain, Russia

The six group winners plus the two second-placed teams with the best records based on percentage of sets won (followed by games won), will qualify for the quarter-finals.
