Title changes hands at WWE Clash of Champions

One of SmackDown's four titles changed hands at the WWE's final pay-per-view of 2017, Clash of Champions.

Dolph Ziggler pinned Baron Corbin in the triple threat match for the United States championship, which also included Bobby Roode in the only title switch of the evening in Boston.

Roode had Corbin beaten with a Glorious DDT but Corbin broke up the pin and was then left helpless as Ziggler turned his End of Days attempt on Roode into a Zig Zag for the victory.

It was the only championship change on the night, with AJ Styles retaining the WWE Title with a submission win over Jinder Mahal.

Styles kicked out of a Khallas and then reversed an attempted Styles Clash by Mahal into a Calf Crusher for the tap-out.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn kept their WWE jobs with a controversial win over Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton.

The match featured two special guest referees in Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan, and it was the latter who registered the win, fast-counting a pin by Zayn on Orton to preserve the heel duo's jobs.

The outcome is likely to have repercussions, with Bryan leaving the ring with Zayn and Owens, who celebrated their WWE preservation with a predictable lack of restraint.

In a fast-pace match, the Usos came out on top against three other teams to retain the SmackDown tag team championship.

The Usos said they've demonstrated once again that they're the best team in the division.

Rusev and Aiden English, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin and the New Day duo of Big E and Kofi Kingston all enjoyed periods of dominance but a splash off the top rope by Jey Uso on Gable ensured the brothers continue to have the tag division on lockdown.

Charlotte Flair successfully defender her women's title by forcing Natalya to tap out to a Figure Eight leglock.

On several occasions, the ringside lumberjacks attacked Flair, and it appeared at one point that Carmella would finally cash in her Money In The Bank briefcase before she was prevented from doing so as the melee resumed.

Charlotte Flair hit back at Natalya who said the Women's Champion is only in her position because of her surname.

After the match, Natalya spoke about how she would now "turn her back on the WWE universe" and left the ring in tears.
