Gordon Lord Byron is set to make a quick reappearance in the Dubai Duty Free Dash Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday following his run at Royal Ascot.

Trainer Tom Hogan was satisfied with his triple Group One winner's performance in finishing eighth to Undrafted in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on Saturday.

Hogan expects the seven-year-old to come on for the outing having been laid low with a lung infection after being in action at the Curragh a month earlier.

"He seems grand. He'd had a lung infection within a month of the run and he ended up probably needing it. I was happy enough with the run," said the County Tipperary trainer.

"You might see him at the Curragh on Saturday. He's a likely runner.

"Last year when he got going he ran five times in nine weeks. He's better off doing something than being in his stable at home."

Among a total of 14 possibles for the Listed contest over six furlongs are Dermot Weld's pair of Alkasser and Tested, the Eddie Lynam-trained duo of Balmont Mast and Fort Del Oro, Ken Condon's Newsletter and Mick Halford's Russian Soul.
