Verdict
Don’t rule out a big run from another Skelton entry, Oldgrangewood, but Van Gogh Du Granit was always travelling well when scoring at Market Rasen and should make a bold bid to defy his penalty. Sizing Granite was placed at the Punchestown Festival after finishing second in a Listed handicap at Ayr and Jonjo O’Neill takes off 3lb while fitness is unlikely to be an issue for the returning Forever Field. KINGS MONARCH won at Fontwell and Hereford before trying his luck in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham. He wasn’t disgraced and is worth another try over 3m given he won over the trip between the flags.
