Verdict

Verdana Blue did well for Nicky Henderson last season, finishing fourth in a Grade 2 at the Cheltenham Festival in March after winning at Hereford and Taunton. She wasn't beaten far in this grade at Cheltenham in April and the winner has franked the form since. The yard also run Jenkins but he has some improving to do to land a race like this. Elgin was placed twice in Grade 2 races as a novice but disappointed on his reappearance at Chepstow while Air Horse One and High Bridge are also carrying big weights. Caid Du Lin wasn't winning out of turn at Fontwell having finished ahead of Limited Reserve and Fou Et Sage earlier at Market Rasen while Chester Williams gave Peruvien Bleu a good ride at Ludlow nine days ago but this is much tougher off an 8lb higher mark. DOLOS made a more than satisfactory reappearance at Chepstow considering he was giving the winner lumps of weight. The handicapper allows him to run off the same mark and Paul Nicholls' four-year-old must be thereabouts.
