Verdict

Apart from a poor run on very soft ground here at the Royal meeting, LIFE AND SOUL hasn't done a lot wrong this term and deserves a change of luck. Amanda Perrett's charge is only a pound higher than when scoring over C&D last September on similar going. Rock A Doodle Doo was well backed in a valuable handicap at York last month and it would be no surprise to see him recoup losses here but the ground may not be fast enough for the trail-blazing Australia Day while Zuider Zee hasn't been seen since disappointing at Goodwood in June and may need further nowadays. Chock A Block appears to be running into form, however, while Averroes had Rock A Doodle Doo and the selection behind here on his latest start and would be a danger to all if reproducing that effort on this quicker surface.
