Verdict

Squats was joint favourite for this valuable handicap 12 months ago but finished unplaced. However, he’s now 2lb lower despite easily beating Sabador at Newbury three weeks ago. Raising Sand finished fourth last year but has struggled this season and stablemate CLIFFS OF CAPRI makes more appeal. Nicola Currie claims a valuable 3lb off Jamie Osborne’s four-year-old, who wasn’t far behind Vale Of Kent and Mubtasim at Chelmsford last week despite finding plenty of trouble in-running. He is 3lb better off than when just failing to catch Warsaw Road at the same track earlier having won a ladies’ race over this course and distance earlier. Cape Byron looks a danger to all after a couple of terrific runs at Goodwood last month and the tough Ripp Orf can reverse recent Newmarket running with Sea Fox as he lost all chance at the start that day. Breanski has been flying and can’t be ignored, despite a further 5lb rise.
