Arabian Spirit, Trafalgar Bay and Evens and Odds are the three against the field in this hugely competitive affair, with ARABIAN SPIRIT the selection. Trafalgar Bay followed up a promising re-appearance run by scoring here last time over a furlong further. That was his first win in three years but the manner of his success suggests he can go well here though he is 8lbs higher. Contrastingly, Evens and Odds steps up in trip, having landed a six furlong Newmarket handicap in emphatic fashion. He carries a 6lb penalty here after a winless run of over a year had seen him slip down the handicap. Yet to win over this trip, he may not last home with the extra weight. Ed Dunlop reported that Arabian Spirit needed his re-appearance run at Kempton, and that he had 'run the race of his life' in the Newbury Spring Cup, finishing a close second. He has won over the trip, is progressive, and looks fairly treated. Arabian Spirit can see off his rivals and land this prestigious contest.
