In depth
Verdict
Chinsola goes from strength to strength and has many likeable qualities; however, he might find life difficult conceding eight pounds to Mark Johnston's Think Tank, who gets our selection. More will be needed from the son of Robellino than he has so far achieved, but his trainer has a good line on this season's top juveniles and there is sure to be more in the locker of this colt. Menfee ran well under a big weight on a track he did not seem to handle last time and will justifiably have his supporters. Queenstown might appreciate the more-galloping nature of this track but, based on form, more will be needed today. Euro Route has shown promise in three unplaced outings so far, not least when fifth behind subsequent Group 2 Goodwood winner Carrizo Creek in a valuable sales race in Ireland. Kingdom Come was put in his place at Royal Ascot last time having won a run-of-the-mill contest the time before. The step up in trip should suit but, again, form improvement is needed. Kinnaird has looked fairly useful in winning three races from four starts, and she might be up to claiming some prize money. The biggest danger to the selection, other than the progressive Chinsola, could be that one's stable companion Vienna's Boy. Second in Royal Ascot's Windsor Castle Stakes, he has since finished third in a decent Listed event at Sandown. That was over five furlongs, a distance over which he has run in each of his races so far. However, on breeding, this trip should not be beyond him. Overall, though, with his two-year-olds proving a very capable bunch this season, Mark Johnston's Think Tank gets the nomination.
