Verdict

Poetic Flare has leading claims having won the 2000 Guineas and just missing out in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh. He beat LUCKY VEGA on both occasions but Jessica Harrington’s charge was less than a length behind at Newmarket and is fancied to turn the tables back on good ground for this. Chindit ran well for fifth at Newmarket but several disappointed including the Ballydoyle pair Wembley and Battleground. The latter is fitted with a tongue-tie today while Thunder Moon ran no sort of race on his reappearance but is a Group 1 winner and Frankie picks-up the ride. Two of the last three renewals have gone to the Gosden yard and the unbeaten Mostahdaf beat previous Feilden Stakes winner Highland Avenue in Listed company at Sandown. Both try their luck at this higher level with the former taken to confirm running.
