Verdict
A low draw has been an advantage in previous years so the likes of Bahamian Pirate (would prefer softer ground) and Romantic Liason are probably best passed over and we prefer to side with those nearer the stands rail with the vote going to Olivia Rose, who is taken to bely likely odds. Terry Mills has a good record in the race in recent years and this filly, who finished close up in sixth place behind Dominica (re-opposes here) in this 12 months ago is fancied to again run well with conditions in her favour. The mare, who has shown progressive form over the last year, looked unlucky on her favoured fast ground at Bath last time but again has the fast ground she desires, is well drawn and reasonably well treated on official BHB ratings. Stable companions Peace Offering and Boleyn Castle have similar claims on the form book but have been done few favours with the draw. The three-year-old Oasis Dream has to shoulder a Group 1 penalty for his Middle Park success and faces no easy task on his reappearance although Dominica did win this first time out last year. She again has to be respected but would probably prefer more cut along with the David Nicholls-trained pair Continent and Captain Rio. Elusive City, who drops back in trip and may be suited by the return to sprint distances, is another to consider but we are happy to side with Olivia Grace.
