Verdict
CAPERCAILLIE won with a bit in hand up at Musselburgh last time and she is fancied to win again at the main expense of Don't Tell Mary, Rose Blossom, Misheer and interesting US raider Jealous Again. Quite what the latter's form will amount to over the Atlantic is anyone's guess, but her trainer is a confident chappie and a big run would come as no surprise. However Capercaillie has done very little wrong in two starts and her win last time came in cosy fashion. True, things panned out perfectly for her there on the stands rail but she is partnered today by ace tactician Frankie Dettori and he knows how to win at the track. As does Champion Jockey Ryan Moore who takes the ride on Marco Botti's Lady Royal Oak. She looked all over the winner on her debut at Nottingham (indeed the commentator thought so as well) but she folded late on and only managed third. She was nicely backed on that occasion and if showing the same dash today she must go close. Lady Of The Desert looked a class above her opposition when making a winning start at Leicester, whilst Misheer won a Listed race at York last time and may improve further today now back on quick ground. Don't Tell Mary is another with 'black type' already and Tom Dascombe's filly was very impressive in the Hilary Needler at Beverley; only a fool would sneer at her chances and she is a big player. Rose Blossom represents a yard having a fantastic season and although she may not have beaten too much on her debut at Hamilton, she won in scintillating fashion and looks a star already. Crown and Cedwell are proven winners, whilst Chantilly Creme was a comfortable winner on her debut at Longchamp despite being relatively unfancied and she is an unknown quantity. This looks a good renewal and one that could go the way of Mark Johnston's Capercaillie.
