In depth

Verdict

Though he’s clearly talented, Fiddlerontheroof has already been beaten a couple of times over fences and he was well behind ALLART (NAP) in the Supreme Novices’ at Cheltenham in March. On the evidence of that race, Nicky Henderson’s six-year-old is set to take high rank among this season’s novice chase crop and his lack of experience and a recent run should be no barrier to success today. Surprisingly beaten at Market Rasen, Pic D'Orhy was just starting to struggle against Chantry House here four weeks ago when falling three out while Chepstow winner Antunes faces a much tougher task but Bold Plan took the notable scalp of The Big Breakaway at Exeter and is useful when in the mood.
