Monsieur Bond can overcome a modest draw to see off Bahamian Pirate and Ashdown Express. Fergal Lynch's mount looks to be able to handle any surface and in the vain of a much-improved sprinter, he won a Group 2 at York and can go in again in what looks to be a below-par renewal. Bahamian Pirate has Gary Stevens aboard. He would arguably need a little cut in the ground but Nicholls' team are in good form and he has stayed this far previously. Ashdown Express is a regular in this company. He can be expected to be staying on at the death. Avonbridge won a Group 2 in France earlier this month and while he beat decent opposition, he is still unproven at top level over this trip. Airwave was second in this race last year to Choisir. A repeat of that will see a win here, but her form has been below that ever since. Cape Of Good Hope acquitted himself well on Tuesday and can be expected to run well again on Saturday. Just James was fifth here last term. He will relish underfoot conditions and could run well at an each-way price. Lochridge and Nights Cross were also-rans earlier in the week and look hard to fancy. Monsieur Bond looks the one to be on.
