In depth
Verdict
This could hardly be more competitive and there are a long list of dangers to our selection Lotus De Pictons, including: Accipiter, who is improving with each run, Narwhal, who is a very promising novice and Dangerously Good, who has lived up to his name with two smooth successes of late. However, the same has to be said of Lotus De Pictons, who has improved since being tried beyond the minimum trip over hurdles. The son of Grand Tresor races with an infectious enthusiasm which will suit him well if, as expected, this develops into scrap for the line. That scenario will bring his exciting blend of speed and stamina into play in the closing stages and he looks the ideal sort to have on your side in a battle. Narwhal does not have too much to find on a line through Grey Report and it is hard to see nick Gifford's charge not at least reaching the frame if he runs up to his best. However, this course places an emphasis on stamina when there is sufficient cut in the ground and he may find the selection has his measure today. Dangerously Good and Accipiter are others that have to be seriously considered and are worthy alternatives for each-way players. In contrast to Spectroscope, who has not really been firing this terms and looks to be one to be wary of for the time being - especially under top weight. Therefore, Lotus De Pictons, with plenty in his favour today, looks the safest option overall to come out on top.
